At Platinum Driving School we stress that a driver's license is a true privilege, and that an automobile can be a dangerous weapon. We believe that this is one of the most important classes that a teenager can take, and one of the biggest responsibilities they will encounter.
In order to receive a permit, Louisiana Law requires that anyone 14 years and 9 months - 17 years of age (must be 15 years old to take driving portion of class) must take a 38 hour course. The course consists of 30 hours classroom instruction and 8 hours behind the wheel instruction. The classroom instruction is completed first, and then you are scheduled to drive 8 hours (2 times 4 hours each) ONE ON ONE with an instructor! The class is $400 and to reserve a seat, a minimum of $100 must be paid. Please note the $100 deposit is non-refundable and only transferrable one time to another class date. The remaining balance is to be paid on the first day of class. Payments and registration can be completed through the registration page.
